Task

Build a site about niche perfume. A useful guide, a strict library of niche scents, and a friend who brings the news. The reader has to feel the rhythm, the notes and the accents.

Solution

The layouts come from fashion magazines and books. Editorial grids, large cards, big headlines. News and the journal get a character of their own. The library and the fragrance pages are set like a glossy book just bought. The pages still smell new.

A lot of editorial sites are hard to read once the text runs long. The same grid, and large type used the same way on every page, bore the reader. Each inner page here has its own editorial grid. The system stays one.

A generic menu would have made the site ordinary. On the homepage the menu is a wear clock. Scroll carries it from spray to heart to verdict. On each fragrance page the clock names the notes, how long they last, and in which order. When the note changes, the background takes the colour token made for that note.

How a verdict is filed
At 8:00 the verdict section draws the method by hand. The line is the argument: how a file is written before anyone is sent to a shop.

The missing address leaves like a top note. The digits hold, evaporate, and come back when the cycle turns.
